Art Description

Hello, Hello today I am going to be shearing with you my Writing 2 from my literacy group Dick Frizzle. As you can see from the title it was an art description. I am sharing this with you because I am proud of my effort.

These Are The Steps I Took:

  1. Choose a Dick Frizzle artwork
  2. Put the name of Dick Frizzles artwork as the title*.
  3. Download and insert a photo of the artwork.
  4. Put your writing goal in the success criteria.
  5. First paragraph: Write an introduction that informs the reader of the sculpture you are going to describe.
  6. New paragraph: details about where it is, what it looks like and what it represents.
  7. New paragraph: What you like about it? Why did you choose it?. What does it say about New Zealand or our world? Why do you think Dick Frizzle made it?
  8. Conclusion: A personal comment - how does the artwork make you feel when you look at it? Say something to the reader about why it is special.

This is my description:

Mickey To Tiki Tu Meke.

This sketch is a Transformation of Mickey Mouse to a tiki, It is designed by a artist named Dick Frizzle. It is called Mickey To Tiki Tu Meke. Dick Frizzle is a famous New Zealand artist who grow up barefoot in Hawks Bay.

This piece of art starts out as Mickey Mouse then transforms in 6 steps into a Tiki. A tiki is something that is kiwiana and is often on a necklace.  There is a reversed version of this art that is Tiki To Mickey

The art tells us that there are similarities between NZ and Disney character.  I like this art because It is clever how he transforms one thing into another.  I chose this because it is one of my favourites from him.

Being happy and serious at the same time is something I find unique about it.  It is special to me because it was made by someone that went to the same school as me. And I believe I could do it too, with a little practice that is.

I liked doing this task. Please comment on my post and I will see you all next time.

Art Plan

Hello fellow blog followers. Today I am going to be sharing with you my art plan for the art exhibition coming up in week 8. I am sharing this with you because I like the art I chose.

This Is The Success Criteria of the art

  • No larger than A3
  • Must be super high quality (your absolute personal best)
  • Must be a type of visual art
  • Must be aesthetically pleasing (it has to look good)
  • It must challenge you (aim high)

This is my art I will be trying to make:

These are the materials you need to make the art:

  • Pencil
  • Red paper
  • Orange paper
  • Yellow paper
  • Blue paper
  • Dark green paper
  • Dark blue paper
  • White paper
  • A3 paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Light green and blue paint
  • Paint brush

I tried my best to try make the instructions of what to make the art:
(Portrait.)

  1. Cut out the Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Green, Dark Blue and White paper into rectangular shapes.
  2. Paint some of the white stripes light green and blue so it will blend into the water.
  3. Place on the dark blue and green evenly among the bottom half of the paper but leave a bit of room and place white, light blue and light green strips for the sun reflection.
  4. Glue Red, Orange, Yellow paper strips on the bottom half of the top half and make It look like a sunset.
  5. Now glue on a white layer with a bit of red in it for about a ⅓ of the rest of the paper.
  6. Glue the dark blue, Blue on the rest of the page for the sky.

I think this will be challenging for me because it will be hard to figure out what piece goes where.

I hope you enjoyed my post and I will see you next time!

Cross Country!

Welcome back to the blog. This week I will be sharing with you about the Cross Country that we ran on 20.8.15. I think that I did really well because I came 9th in the yr 5 girls competitive. I am sharing this with you because I think I did my personal best.

Here are some questions that I answered about the cross county with my learning buddy

  • What did you compete in... competed in the yr 5 girls competitive.

  • I showed Parkvale Pride because I got in the top 10.

  • Someone else I noticed in the fun run was Mya Wallace because she tried really hard to hard and got 4th in the yr 4 girls competitve.

This is my interview, we had to interview our learning buddy.
